Two Fish Hand Painted Window Art

“Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish.” (Matthew 13:47) The Greek word for fish, “ichthys,” is an acronym for “Iesous Christos Theou Yios Soter,” which translates into English as ‘Jesus Christ, Son of God, [Our] Savior’. It is believed that the fish was the first symbol identifying Christens before the cross. These image of two fish can be found in many mosaics in the Holy Land.

Katja Barlia is the creative spirit behind Madbekatja, original, hand painted window art. Born in Hannover, Germany, Katja moved to Israel where she lived and raised a family for the last 30 years. Having worked as a florist for many years, Katja’s love of plants, flowers, and nature were the inspiration for her original window art designs.
