Walk the hills around Bethlehem and you will hear them before you see the flock: the bells of the sheep. Their sound today is the sound of the time of Jesus.
“When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.” (John 10:4)
The belled sheep leads and the flock follows. Jesus’s teaching on the Good Shepherd draws on scenes like this, and these bells make a vivid visual sermon on following a good example.
Hang the medium set on a wall or by a door to bring the sound and spirit of the Holy Land into your home, church or classroom.
