Ceramic Oil Lamp Mosaic Kit from the Holy Land
“You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light.” (2 Samuel 22:29)
The earliest oil lamps of biblical times are believed to have been pottery dishes or shells holding oil or animal fat and a wick. Some were shaped by hand, others on a potter’s wheel. Olive oil lamps are mentioned several times in the Bible.
This kit pairs two ceramic oil lamps and their wicks with a mosaic you lay yourself. It is easy to assemble, even for a novice, and a great way to introduce children of all ages to mosaic art.
The kit is packed in a wooden box with a clear top, and the stones can be easily cut with scissors. The finished piece is a beautiful memento from the Holy Land.
