The leaves on this necklace were cast directly from an olive tree. Israeli designer Maayan Ayash takes her inspiration from the olive trees of the Holy Land, the same trees that have brought life and splendor to the Land for thousands of years.

Maayan Ayash was born in Brazil from a family of artists and painters. In Maayan’s studio in Sao Paulo, the plentitude of gems of Maayan’s enchanting designs enabled her to produce remarkable jewelry.
In 1985 Maayan decided to move to Israel. After living in Israel Maayan had a Jewish religious awakening, and she fulfilled her desire to convert to Judaism. Maayan lived in Jerusalem, where she made drawings on silver.
Maayan’s creations bears the imprint of thirty years of work with silver, gold and gems— along with her spiritual connection to the dream of Jews living in the land of their fathers.
