In Hebrew the star is the Magen David, the “Shield of David”, a symbol of the relationship between man and God in which God is shield and protector. The Eilat stone, Israel’s national stone, is also called King Solomon’s stone. It was mined in the Timna Valley, at King Solomon’s mines near Eilat.
